             abstract = "The atmospheric correction is a fundamental step for many works 
                         that make use of remote sensing. This research aims to anilyse the 
                         results generated by the calculation of vegetation index 
                         Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Soil-adjusted 
                         Vegetation Index (SAVI) generated by the atmospheric correction of 
                         the 4 and 5 band of Landsat 8, and also in absence of the 
                         atmospheric correction to determine whether the applicability of 
                         this procedure is applicable to the calculation of SAVI, whose 
                         index already has a coefficient of adjustment of brightness for 
                         correction of the image. The results according with the land use 
                         classes in the calculation of NDVI generate a significant 
                         diference for the Native Forest and Reforestation use classes with 
                         a value of 0.16 for both, looking to the underestimated values for 
                         not performing the atmospheric correction procedure. In contrast, 
                         the SAVI was also obtained with the most significant difference in 
                         the class of Native Forest with the value 0.11, but showing 
                         underestimated values in the presence of atmospheric 
                         correctionwith the visual aid of the map, it was possible to 
                         conclude that the SAVI does not present significant results when 
                         performing the atmospheric correction, and when comparing it with 
                         the NDVI it is perceived that it does not have such a positive 
                         answer regarding its applicability in the vegetation studies.",
